U.S. and India co-chair 16th Military Cooperation Group at USPACOM
Lieutenant General Bryan Fenton, Deputy Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM), right, and Lieutenant General Satish Dua, Chief of Integrated Defense Staff, India, sign an executive summary of the 16th Military Cooperation Group (MCG) the two co-chaired at USPACOM headquarters November 28-29. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to the strategic partnership, deepened military-to-military collaboration, and reinforcing a peaceful and stable international rules-based system, as highlighted in the joint statement following the June, 2017 meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi.

Chinese Admiral in Hawaii for Maritime Talks with USPACOM Officials
Rear Adm. Wang Dazhong, Deputy Chief of Staff of People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy and his staff are given a tour of the guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) by Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Brandon Burkett. During his trip Wang met with senior representatives from U.S. Pacific Command, U.S. Pacific Air Forces, and the U.S. Pacific Fleet during the Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) working group and annual plenary meetings. During the MMCA meetings, both U.S. and Chinese officials discussed how to improve maritime and aviation safety and professionalism; reviewed unsafe incidents over the last year; and discussed implementation and assessment of the Rules of Behavior for Safety of Air and Maritime Encounters Memorandum of Understanding. U.S. Pacific Command - Japan Joint Staff Bilateral Conference
CAMP SMITH, Hawaii (Oct. 11, 2017) — Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), Adm. Harry Harris, center, hosted Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) Chief of Staff, Adm. Katsutoshi Kawano, center-left, for a Joint Senior Leaders Seminar to discuss the current security environment in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and the future of U.S.-Japan defense cooperation. They reaffirmed that the PACOM and JSDF will continue to cooperate closely in order to deal with the threat of North Korea ballistic missile and nuclear capabilities. They also agreed to continue to encourage all nations in the region to play a responsible role in regional stability, to adhere to international laws and norms of behavior, and to peacefully resolve disputes.
