CAMP SMITH, Hawaii (Oct. 11, 2017) — Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), Adm. Harry Harris, center, hosted Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) Chief of Staff, Adm. Katsutoshi Kawano, center-left, for a Joint Senior Leaders Seminar to discuss the current security environment in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and the future of U.S.-Japan defense cooperation. They reaffirmed that the PACOM and JSDF will continue to cooperate closely in order to deal with the threat of North Korea ballistic missile and nuclear capabilities.
