USS George Washington Conducts Flight Operations
(Oct. 15 2024) Sailors, assigned to air department’s crash and salvage division, stand watch on the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) as an F/A-18E Super Hornet, attached to the Royal Maces of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, takes off while underway in the Pacific Ocean, Oct. 15, 2024. As an integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, U.S. 3rd Fleet operates naval forces in the Indo-Pacific in addition to providing realistic and relevant training necessary to flawlessly execute our Navy’s timeless roles of sea control and power projection.
