Army conducts 1st RIMPAC joint live-fire sinking exercise as Multi-Domain Task Force

Royal New Zealand Air Force Meets With Plane Crash Survivors They Helped Rescue During RIMPAC 2016

(July 20, 2016) - David McMahon and Sydnie Uemoto meet with service members from the Royal New Zealand Air Force No. 5 Air Squadron at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, during Rim of the Pacific 2016. McMahon and Uemoto were involved in a plane crash nine miles off the coast of the island of Kona, Hawaii and were rescued by a Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew following an expansive multinational search by U.S. Navy, Royal New Zealand Air Force, U.S. Air Force and Coast Guard crews after a 20-hour search.
