ARCTIC CIRCLE (March 14, 2016) Sailors and civilians, assigned to Arctic Submarine Lab, clear the ice from the hatch of USS Hampton (SSN 767) during Ice Exercise (ICEX) 2016. ICEX 2016 is a five-week exercise designed to research, test, and evaluate operational capabilities in the region. ICEX 2016 allows the U.S. Navy to assess operational readiness in the Arctic, increase experience in the region, advance understanding of the Arctic environment, and develop partnerships and collaborative efforts.

Amphibious Assault Rehearsal during Ssang Yong 16
A U.S. Marine Corps Amphibious Assault Vehicle assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit enters the water after conducting an amphibious assault rehearsal during Exercise Ssang Yong 16, Dogu Beach, Pohang, Republic of Korea, Mar. 10, 2016. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team is committed to the ROK-U.S. Alliance and conduct exercises regularly to ensure interoperability and maintain strong working relationships to support the sovereignty of the ROK. Ssang Yong familiarizes American armed forces with the Korean Peninsula and builds upon the strong preexisting relationship between the two militaries. The Marines and sailors of the 31st MEU are currently deployed aboard the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group as part of their spring deployment of the Asia-Pacific region. U.S., Nepal's military coordinate relief missions

The Nepalese Government requested the U.S. Government’s assistance after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the country, April 25, 2015. U.S. Marines from III Marine Expeditionary Force have come together with other U.S. services to form JTF-505. JTF-505 works in conjunction with USAID and the international community to provide unique capabilities to assist Nepal.

ROK Marines on Osprey
POHANG, South Korea (Mar. 30, 2015) - Republic of Korea (ROK) Marines unload onto a landing zone from a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey belonging to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), during Korea Marine Exchange Program (KMEP) 15. KMEPs are annual combined exercises conducted by U.S. Marine and Navy Forces with the ROK in order to strengthen working relationships across the range of military operations - from disaster relief to complex, expeditionary operations.
