25th ID Soldiers Participate in Knowledge Exchange with Armed Forces of the Philippines
U.S. Army Capt. Eddie Rogers of the 25th Infantry Division discusses operations, Aug. 2, 2016, with his Filipino counterparts of the 7th Infantry Division, Armed Forces of the Philippines. The knowledge exchange exercise is part of Pacific Pathways, a three month long event where troops practice joint operations with their Filipino counterparts.

Pacific Partnership 2016 Departs Philippines

Alejandro IV, regional director, Office of Civil Defense 5, render honors during the Philippine national anthem at the start of a Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Relief workshop in support of Pacific Partnership 2016. During the three-day workshop, co-hosted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Pacific Partnership 2016, Filipino civilians and military service members coordinated a tabletop exercise to simulate multilateral disaster response among partners during a crisis. Pacific Partnership is visiting the Philippines for the seventh time since its first visit in 2006. Partner nations are working side-by-side with local military and non-government organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for a natural disaster or crisis.

Gabrielle Jung, a Navy dentist and native of Aurora, Colorado (left), talks with a student at Ligao West Central Elementary School during Pacific Partnership 2016. Jung was at the school as part of a cooperative health engagement where Pacific Partnership 2016 personnel attached to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines spent the day educating people on health care, hygiene and nutrition. Participants also provided direct care services including optometry, dental care and physical therapy. Pacific Partnership is visiting the Philippines for the seventh time since its first mission in 2006. Partner nations will work side-by-side with local military and non-government organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for a natural disaster or crisis.

CLARK AIR BASE, Philippines (April 22, 20160 - U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jay Perocho Acasio, an aircrew flight equipment journeyman with the 51st Operations Support Squadron, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, looks out over his home country during a HH-60G Pave Hawk flight near Clark Air Base, Philippines. The staff sergeant is one of three Filipino-American Airmen serving U.S. Pacific Command’s newly stood up Air Contingent in the Philippines. Duluth Air Guard Deploys F-16s to Osan
CLARK AIR BASE, Philippines (April 19, 2016) - A U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II with the 51st Fighter Wing out of Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, touches down at Clark AB after returning from its first operational mission through international airspace, providing air and maritime situational awareness. The A-10C's mission enhances U.S. military assets in the region upholding freedom of navigation and over flight. Five A-10Cs are joined with three HH-60G Pave Hawks, and approximately 200 personnel deployed from multiple Pacific Air Forces units to make up the first iteration of the U.S. Pacific Command Air Contingent at Clark AB.

Sunsets over A-10C
A U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II, with the 51st Fighter Wing, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, sits on the flight line of Clark Air Base, Philippines, April 16, 2016, as part of a newly stood up Air Contingent in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The contingent's first iteration is comprised of five A-10Cs, three HH-60G Pavehawks and approximately 200 Pacific Air Forces personnel including aircrew, maintainers, logistics and support personnel. The A-10C were chosen as they were already in place supporting Exercise Balikatan 16 and have a proven record operating out of short and austere airstrips, provide a flexible range of capabilities, and have a mission profile consistent with the air and maritime domain awareness operations the air contingent will conduct.

US Forces Executes a Combined-Joint Operation with their Philippine Counterparts
JAMINDAN, Philippines – Philippine Army soldiers, and U.S. Army soldiers assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment walk back to the helicopter landing zone, after completing a combined-joint operation Handa Koa for Balikatan, April 14th, 2016. This year marked the 32nd iteration of the annual exercise Balikatan, which is an annual Philippine-U.S. military bilateral training exercise that is a signature element of the Philippine-U.S. alliance focused on a variety of missions, including humanitarian assistance, maritime law enforcement, and environmental protection.
