US/ROK celebrate 12th annual Korean American Friendship Festival
Men perform a Pungmul dance during the 12th annual Korean American Friendship Festival in the Songtan Entertainment District, Republic of Korea Oct. 17, 2015. Pungmul is a Korean folk music tradition that includes drumming, dancing, and singing. Most performances are outside, with dozens of players, all in constant motion. Pungmul was originally played as part of farm work, on rural holidays, at other village community-building events, and to accompany shamanistic rituals, mask dance dramas and other types of performances.

US and RoK First Responders Conduct Hazardous Materials Training
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea (Sept. 24, 2015) - Firefighters from the 51st Civil Engineer Squadron and South Korean first-responders line up their vehicles near a simulated factory fire near Songtan. The 51 CES members are from Osan Air Base and took part in a hazardous materials training session in order to test each fire station's capabilities.

U.S. and ROK Marines Test CBRN Response During Gas Attack
Republic of Korea Marine Lance Cpl. Jun Shin, center, supports a U.S. Marine moving to safety during a gas attack drill as part of Korean Marine Exchange Program 15-12 at Gunha-Rhi, Republic of Korea, Sept. 17, 2015. The drill was part of KMEP 15-12, an exercise that enhances the ROK and U.S. alliance, promotes stability on the Korean Peninsula and strengthens ROK and U.S. military capabilities and interoperability. Shin is with 2nd Company, 11th Battalion, 1st Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, ROK Headquarters Marine Corps. The U.S. Marines are with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, currently supporting 3rd Marine Division under the unit deployment program.

Combined Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore 2015
COMBINED ARMS TRAINING CENTER CAMP FUJI, Japan (July 27, 2015) - Marines with Combat Logistics Company 36 navigate through training grounds during Exercise Dragon Fire 2015. Using only a map, protractor and compass, service members navigated in an unfamiliar, highly vegetated terrain with limited time to complete their mission. Exercise Dragon Fire is conducted annually allowing service members to strengthen their combat readiness, a vital asset to the Marine Corps' mission.

U.S. Marines, airmen and Republic of Korea troops train for contamination
OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea (Mar. 19, 20150) - Republic of Korea (ROK) airmen perform a decontamination operation. ROK airmen participated in a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear joint training exercise with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1 CBRN and 51st Civil Engineer Squadron CBRN. The week-long bilateral training event enabled U.S. Marines and airmen, and ROK airmen to learn different tactics, techniques and procedures.

Korean, U.S. Soldiers Brave Cold, Test Medical Skills
YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea (Feb. 26, 2015) - South Korean medical soldiers carry a simulated American casualty during a training exercise with Soldiers from 65th Medical Brigade and other elements of the U.S. Eighth Army near Yangju. The purpose of the combined Korea-U.S. military exercise was to synchronize medical operations in the event of a mass casualty situation caused by chemical or biological munitions.

21 Nations Participate in Largest Peacekeeping Training Event

Gone but not forgotten
