WASHINGTON – His Excellency Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery to honor America's fallen.

Abe was escorted during the Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath Laying Ceremony by Maj. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington commanding general.

During Abe's week-long visit, he is scheduled to meet with America's senior leaders to celebrate the strong global partnership that the United States and Japan have developed during the 70 years since the end of World War II.

VP-10 Participates in Royal Australian Navy’s Largest International Exercise, Kakadu

The “Red Lancers” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 10 participated in exercise Kakadu alongside the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and nine other partner and allied nations, Sept. 8-20.
The “Red Lancers” of VP-10 are based in Jacksonville, Florida, and are currently on a rotational deployment operating from multiple locations including Misawa Air Base in Misawa, Japan. The squadron conducts maritime patrol and reconnaissance as well as theater outreach operations, supporting Commander, Task Force 72, U.S. Seventh Fleet, and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command objectives throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
