OKINAWA, Japan - U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B’s with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepare for take-off aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), in the Philippine Sea Aug. 17, 2021. The MV-22B provides combatant commanders with extended range and flexibility for a wide range of missions. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of America Expeditionary Strike Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
