PHILIPPINE SEA - The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), transits the Philippine Sea in preparation for a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Halsey (DDG 97). U.S. Navy cruisers and destroyers fulfill critical rolls to forward-deployed naval forces, Carrier Strike Group, and regional partners and allies in supporting the security and the right of all nations to trade, to communicate, and to choose their destiny in a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
