Mike Gilday, Command Master Chief Matt Lashley, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Russ Smith, and retired Rear Adm. Frank Thorp pose for a photo at the inaugural Delbert D. Black Leadership Award Ceremony Dinner at the U.S. Navy Memorial. The Navy created the award in 2013 and presents the award each year to one outstanding Command Master Chief, Command Senior Chief, or Chief of the Boat to recognize their performance in leading Sailors and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
