WASHINGTON, D.C. - In this file photo, Cmdr. Jimmie Jensen, commanding officer of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42), explains the function of the ship’s well deck to Lt. Gen. Jerry P. Martinez, commander of U.S. Forces Japan, and Adm. Katsutoshi Kawano, chief of staff of Joint Japan Staff during a tour of the ship. Martinez and Kawano are visiting the ship as part of an annual Japan joint site visit to enhance the U.S.-Japan alliance, Nov. 19, 2018.
