Essex ARG, 13th MEU launch integration exercise

PACIFIC OCEAN - A landing craft air cushion (LCAC) attached to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, transports an M1A1 Abrams tank, attached to 1st Tank Battalion, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), into the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during an amphibious squadron and MEU integration (PMINT) exercise, March 23, 2018. PMINT is a two-week training evolution between Essex Amphibious Ready Group and 13th MEU, which allows Sailors and Marines to train as a cohesive unit in preparation for their upcoming deployment.
