WATERS EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA - 171018-N-HI376-064 WATERS EAST OF THE KOREAN PENINSULA (Oct. 18, 2017) The forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) steams in formation with the forward-deployed aircraft Carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and Republic of Korea (ROK) ships ROKS Sejong the Great (DDG-991), ROKS Munmu the Great (DDH-976), ROKS Yang Manchun (DDH-973), ROKS Kang Won (DD-922), ROKS Sokcho (PCC-778) and ROKS Gwangmyeong (PCC-782) during Maritime Counter Special Operations Force Exercise 2017. Stethem, part of the Ronald Reagan Strike Group, is conducting a bilateral training exercise with the ROK Navy designed to increase the readiness of U.S. and ROK forces and maintain stability on the Korean Peninsula.
