September 18, 2017 -- CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii - CAMP SMITH, Hawaii (Sept. 18, 2017) — Commander, U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), Adm. Harry Harris and the Honorable Marise Payne, Minister of Defense, Australia, talk as they walk through the halls at PACOM headquarters. Harris and Minister Payne discussed the threat posed by North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs, ballistic missile defense, and the importance of coming together as an international community to hold the regime accountable. They also talked about counterterrorism operations in the region and the emerging opportunities to create more multilateral partnerships with other nations throughout the Pacific.
