YOKOSUKA, Japan - Capt. Buzz Donnelly, commanding officer of the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), explains flight deck operations to William F. Hagerty, U.S. ambassador to Japan, Sept. 6, 2017, on the ship's flight deck. Hagerty met with senior leadership and toured the ship during his first visit to Ronald Reagan since taking the office of U.S. ambassador to Japan in July. Ronald Reagan, the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
