May 11, 2016 - SOUTH CHINA SEA - 160511-N-MY174-061: SOUTH CHINA SEA (May 11, 2016) - Rear Adm. Marcus Hitchcock, commander, John C. Stennis Strike Group (JCSSG), congratulates Capt. Richard Brophy, commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9, on the 1,000th arrested landing of his career. Brophy reached the milestone landing an F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to the Tophatters of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 14 on USS John C. Stennis' (CVN 74) flight deck. Providing a ready force supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific, John C. Stennis is operating as part of the Great Green Fleet on a regularly scheduled 7th Fleet deployment.
