Our Mission:

Joint Task Force - Micronesia will synchronize operations and activities across all domains, enabling a robust warfighting posture while enhancing partner nation capacity.  Dedicated to promoting regional stability, our mission performs Homeland Defense, Defense Support to Civil Authorities, and Foreign Humanitarian Assistance through a whole of government approach within its assigned joint operations area.

A key highlight was the introduction of a new ultrasound machine in Munda, where Lt. Col. Richard Teames played a pivotal role in its setup and training local healthcare professionals. U.S. Coast Guard successfully rescues a disabled fishing vessel crew near Satawal Atoll, FSM
The crew of the USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140) visit with residents of Satawal, Federated States of Micronesia, after safely returning six rescued fishermen and their 22-foot fiberglass boat to the community on Aug. 18, 2024. The vessel, which had been adrift after experiencing engine failure, was towed to Satawal Atoll by Oliver Henry, who arrived roughly two hours later. The Joint Rescue Sub-Center (JRSC) Guam watch received a distress alert from a 406MHz Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) registered in the United States at approximately 9 a.m. local time on Aug. 17. The beacon, lent out by a Yap-based owner to outer island fishermen, was activated, signaling potential distress about 27 nautical miles north northeast of Satawal. A rescue and assistance team from the USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140) approaches the 150-foot 497-ton motor yacht Black Pearl 1, located approximately 200 nautical miles west of the Republic of Palau, on July 21, 2024, after responding to a distress call. The 11-person yacht crew, who reported a locked rudder and flooding in the bilge, was assisted by Oliver Henry's crew with dewatering and damage control.
