MELBOURNE, Australia - MELBOURNE, Australia (Sept. 11, 2026) — U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 26 present the American flag on the field during the opening ceremony of the first National Football League game played in Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Sept. 11, 2026. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
