Through FFA operations, contributing nations work together to coordinate maritime and aerial surveillance patrols in their EEZs to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and transnational crime. Operation SOLANIA is the ADF contribution to maritime surveillance within the Pacific region. ADF personnel and assets assigned to Operation SOLANIA provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) support through the FFA to Pacific island countries (PIC), which in turn supports their economic development through the protection of fisheries and other resources.
