Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, commemorating Anzac Day on April 25, 2025. Anzac Day was originally named in reference to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps’ and the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces as independent nations, and is now recognized as a solemn occasion to remember all Austrlians and New Zealanders who have served in war and conflict. USINDOPACOM is committed to enhancing stability in the Indo-Pacific region by promoting security cooperation, encouraging peaceful development, responding to contingencies, deterring aggression and, when necessary, prevailing in conflict.
