Carrier Strike Group 11 Changes Command at Sea Aboard USS Nimitz

PACIFIC OCEAN - Rear Adm. Yvette Davids, commander of Carrier Strike Group 11, and Rear Adm. Jim Kirk, the prospective commander of CSG-11, salute during a change of command ceremony on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is an intensive exercise designed to fully integrate units of the carrier strike group, while testing a strike group’s ability as a whole to carry out sustained combat operations from the sea. (
