PHITSANULOK, Thailand - U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Pete Johnson, U.S. Army, Pacific deputy commanding general, stands alongside his foreign counterparts, Feb. 25, 2020, at Camp Akathotsarot in Phitsanulok Province, Thailand for a photo during the opening ceremony of Exercise Cobra Gold 2020. This is the 39th iteration of CG20, the largest joint-multinational military exercise in southeast Asia. The 10-day exercise is a series of training events that promotes and reinforces the enduring U.S./Thai alliance and demonstrates the U.S. military's unwavering commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
