U.S. Army Alaska Gives Marine Corps a Lift during Exercise

SEWARD, Aslaska - Specialist Timothy Burns, assigned to the 109th Transportation Company, 17th Combat Support Sustainment Battalion, U.S. Army Alaska, secures U.S. Marine Corps bulk fuel supplies and equipment from the U.S.S. Comstock (LSD-45), a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship, to an M872 trailer at the port of Seward, Alaska, Sept. 19, 2019, for transport to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The U.S. Navy is conducting an Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise to test its logistical effectiveness and joint-service interoperability while responding to conflict or disaster in an austere environment with no organic assets.
