In this file photo, from left to right) Capt. Kent Hendricks, Maj. Gen. Weidley, Mr. Kohei Kawabata, Brig. Gen. Paul Rock Jr. and Lt. Col. Daniel A. Segura cut the ribbon to commemorate the new Landing Helicopter Dock training site Jan. 16, 2019 at Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan. The ceremony was held to recognize the hard work of local and U.S. organizations and the completion of the LHD training site. The two-and-a half-year project consisted of laying high temperature concrete, fiber concrete pavement, and asphalt.
