Bonhomme Richard Arrives in Sasebo, Concludes Four Month Deployment

SASEBO, Japan - Amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) prepares to pass Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force general purpose destroyer JS Kirisame (DD 104) on its return to Commander, U.S. Fleet Activities Sasebo Sept. 25, 2017. Bonhomme Richard returned following a four-month deployment in in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Bonhomme Richard served as the flagship of the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group during the deployment, which was highlighted by the U.S.-Australia bilateral exercise Talisman Saber and several port visits in Australia resulting in enhanced interoperability and relations between the two allies.
