170807-N-LD343-002 SINGAPORE (Aug. 7, 2017) Cpl. Anthony Burkey, assigned to the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), stir fries vegetables at the Willing Hearts soup kitchen in the Kembangan-Chai Chee community during a community service project. America Sailors and 15th MEU Marines helped prepare more than 800 meals while helping out at the soup kitchen. America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th MEU, is operating in the Indo-Asia Pacific region to strengthen partnerships and serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency.
