USS Wayne E. Meyer and USS Carl Vinson Volunteer at Willing Hearts Soup Kitchen

Sailors assigned to Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) cut vegetables at the Willing Hearts Soup Kitchen during a community service event in Singapore, April 5, 2017. Wayne E. Meyer is on a regularly scheduled Western Pacific deployment with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group as part of the U.S. Pacific Fleet-led initiative to extend U.S. 3rd Fleet command and control functions into the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike groups have routinely patrolled the Indo-Asia-Pacific for more than 70 years.
