SINGAPORE (Nov. 7, 2016) – Aria Terry, sets a glow lantern afloat at Navy Region Singapore’s Terror Club during an event to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, Nov. 4, 2016. The lanterns symbolize giving hope and empowerment to those victims of sexual assault and domestic violence around the world. Military service members and their families along with DoD civilians assigned to Navy Region Singapore walked along the streets of Sembawang, Singapore to raise awareness and support for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The event entitled, Take Back the Night, included more than 30 participants who gathered to peacefully march along the streets of Singapore and take back the fear that is surrounded by the belief that violence is perpetrated by strangers in the night.
