File photo: EW YORK (May 20, 2015) - USS Barry (DDG 52) and a U.S. Coast Guard rigid-hulled inflatable boat sail in the Parade of Ships in the Hudson River May 20. The event officially begins Fleet Week New York and provides the public with a passing review of the week's visiting ships. Fleet Week New York, now in its 27th year, is the city's time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of todays maritime services.
