DALIAN, China (July 17, 2014) - Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Jonathan Greenert departs the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) ship Datong FFG 580 with the ship's Commanding Officer Lt. Cmdr. Hao He after touring the ship and transiting to Lushun Naval Base. Greenert's visit to the PLAN came at the mutual request of U.S. and Chinese leadership to strengthen existing military relations between the two navies through additional military exercises, port visits and exchanges to advance maritime cooperative efforts in the Asia-Pacific.
