KAMANDAG 8: 15th MEU Marines Convoy to Apurawan for Coastal Defense Exercise
(Oct. 20, 2024) U.S. Marines assigned to Charlie Battery, Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, emplace M777 towed 155 mm howitzers in firing positions at a simulated coastal defense site during exercise KAMANDAG 8 at Apurawan Beach, Palawan Province, Philippines, Oct. 20, 2024. First F-35 lands aboard JS Kaga
(Oct. 20 2024) An F-35B Lightning II aircraft, flown by a test pilot from Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Two Three (VX-23), lands aboard Japan’s Izumo-class multi-functional destroyer JS Kaga (DDH-184) for the first time Oct. 20, 2024, off the southern coast of California. The short takeoff and vertical landing variant of the 5th generation aircraft and an integrated test team are aboard the ship to conduct developmental test to certify modifications to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s largest vessel. Data that testers gather during these sea trials will be analyzed and eventually inform decisions to enhance the capabilities of the Maritime Self-Defense Force as well as contribute to improved interoperability between Japan and the U.S. Japan is an F-35 Joint Program Office foreign military sales customer planning to buy 42 F-35Bs.

100th BN 442nd IN REGT at JPMRC
POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA, Hawaii (Jan. 2, 2025) — U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment, 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade, 9th Mission Support Command return fire while defending a forward operating base during the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC) 25-01 at Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii, Oct. 11, 2024. The JPMRC is the Army’s newest Combat Training Center (CTC) and generates readiness in the environments and conditions where our forces are most likely to operate.
