TRAP: Never Leave a Marine Behind
Seaman Michael J. Stark prepares the simulated casualty, Sgt. Stephanie M. Hauer-Velez, to be loaded onto an MV-22B Osprey during the scenario based training mission of a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel during Cobra Gold 16 at Utapao, Thailand February 15. A TRAP mission is when a TRAP force goes into potentially dangerous area to rescue an aircraft and its crew. Exercise Cobra Gold is a multi-national event with purpose to increase relationships and cooperation of participating nations. Hauer-Velez, from Bellevue, Nebraska, and Stark, a corpsman, are with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

Indo-Asia Pacific Nations work together in preparation for disasters
Members and participants of the Exercise Cobra Gold 16 Medical Symposium pose for one last group photo Feb. 12 at the K.P. Grand Hotel, Chanthaburi, Thailand. The symposium, Feb. 9-12, focused on the exchange of knowledge and techniques about humanitarian assistance disaster response. The main goal of the symposium was to raise the level of awareness, understanding, and methods for mitigation and prevention of new and emerging disease threats.

YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 11, 2016) Damage Controlman Fireman Daniel Mcneil,right, attached to the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), helps Damage Controlman Fireman Jessica Closser don a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) mask during a drill. Blue Ridge is currently moored at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, finishing the final preparations for its 2016 patrol cycle.

SEAC visits USPACOM enlisted force
U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori Robinson, U.S. Pacific Air Forces commander, thanks U.S. Army Command Sgt. Maj. John W. Troxell, senior enlisted advisor to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (SEAC), for speaking with Airmen, Soldiers, Marines and Sailors about issues concerning the enlisted force during his visit to Hawaii Feb. 10, 2016, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The talk was part of the SEAC’s visit where he met with U.S. Pacific Command enlisted members and leadership.

Boxer ARG Tests UNREP Capability During CERTEX
Fleet replenishment oiler USNS Guadalupe (T-AO 200) and dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) transit alongside one another during a replenishment at sea. The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) is underway off the coast of Southern California completing a certification exercise (CERTEX). Pearl Harbor survivors return 74 years later
PEARL HARBOR (Dec. 5, 2015) Peter B. Dupre', a World War II Veteran, plays taps on his harmonica during a floral tribute aboard the USS Arizona Memorial on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH). The floral tribute was part of Pearl Harbor Survivor/ World War II Family and Friends Harbor Tour that took place at JBPHH. Several events that will take place leading up to the 74th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day to pay tribute to the nationÕs military while enlightening Americans about veterans and service.

U.S., Royal Malaysian Navy Submarine Leaders Participate in Guam Staff Talks
Rear Adm. Abdul Rahman, commander, Royal Malaysian Navy Submarine Force, center, and Rear Adm. William Merz, commander, Submarine Group Seven, operate a submarine dive simulator during a tour of submarine training facilities at Submarine Squadron 15, Dec 1. The simulator was just one of many scheduled events centered around submarine staff talks between the two nations. U.S., Royal Malaysian Navy Submarine Leaders Participate in Guam Staff Talks
Guided missile submarine USS Ohio (SSGN 726) gets underway after being moored alongside submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39 ) in Sepanggar, Malaysia. Emory S. Land and Ohio's visit to Malaysia continues the U.S. Navy's ongoing commitment to theater security, cooperation and friendship with local partner navies. Emory S. Land is a forward deployed expeditionary submarine tender on an extended deployment conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operations.

USS Ronald Reagan
WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Nov. 16, 2015) Capt. Chris Bolt, commanding officer of the U.S. Navy's only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), pilots an E-2C Hawkeye from the "Liberty Bells" of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 115 as it prepares to land on the ship's flight deck. Ronald Reagan and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

Members of Littoral Combat Ship Surface Warfare Detachment 6 (SUW Det 6) share visit, board, search, and seizer tactics with members of the Royal Cambodian Navy aboard USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Cambodia 2015. Jeffery Burton, left, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 5, explains the mission and tools used by his Very Shallow Water (VSW) platoon to Rear Adm. Bill Byrne, commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea, during Exercise Clear Horizon on Commander Fleet Activities Chinhae. Exercise Clear Horizon is an annual bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Republic of Korea navies that focus on increasing capabilities and coordination between ships, and aircraft in mine countermeasures in international waters surrounding the Korean peninsula.
