PHILIPPINES - U.S. Army Maj. Ryan Rances, 125th Intelligence and Electronic Warfare Battalion operations officer, 25th Infantry Division, monitors execution checks during a counter-landing live-fire exercise alongside the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force during Exercise Balikatan 2026 at La Paz Sand Dunes, Laoag City, Philippines, May 4, 2026. U.S. Indo-Pacific Command J7 Pacific Multi-Domain Training and Experimentation Capability provided advanced electronic warfare systems and emitters, as well as aerial and maritime drones to enhance EW training. Balikatan is a longstanding annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. military that represents the strength of our alliance, improves our capable combined force, and demonstrates our commitment to regional peace and prosperity.
