Cobra Gold 16: Noncombatant Evacuation Preparation
A MV-22 Osprey sits on display for Thai, Malaysian and Japanese service members and spectators to tour during a noncombatant evacuation demonstration as part of exercise Cobra Gold 16 at Utapao, Thailand, February 17, 2016. The Osprey brings a longer travel range and bigger capacity for supplies compared to traditional helicopters, but it can access tighter spaces than a traditional fixed-wing aircraft. Cobra Gold is a multi-national exercise designed to increase cooperation and advance the Pacific region’s peace and interoperability. The Osprey is with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

18th Wing participates in Okinawa disaster drill

DB-15, being conducted from Aug. 31- Sept. 9, 2015 by Expeditionary Strike Group 3 (ESG-3) and 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade (1stMEB), is a multinational training exercise between the U.S., Japan, Mexico and New Zealand which conducts live, simulated, and constructive operations to enhance each country’s ability to activate and deploy an Amphibious Task Force with speed and effectiveness in support of the full range of military operations as required by combatant commanders.

Northern Edge 2015 battlespace, maximizes training capability
EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska (June 25, 2015) Live, virtual and constructive (LVC) participants from various U.S. military branches are tracked by the 353rd Combat Training Squadron as assets move into place in preparation for an Exercise Northern Edge scenario. The LVC system enables live participants like this U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon deployed to Alaska to directly engage and interact with virtual aviators operating from home station simulators, and contructive computer-generated forces to provide more robust training scenarios. Northern Edge 2015 is Alaska's premier joint training exercise designed to practice operations, tactics, techniques and procedures as well as enhance interoperability among thousands of Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen from active duty, reserve and National Guard units.

Palawan communities celebrate completion of new school facilities
PALAWAN, Philippines (Apr. 28, 2015) - U.S. military service members talk to children during exercise Balikatan 2015's San Rafael High School ribbon cutting ceremony in San Rafael. MCAS Iwakuni maintains operational readiness
MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (Apr. 3, 2015) - Aircraft Rescue Firefighters with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron work together to evacuate a casualty during the mass casualty exercise aboard Marine Corps Air. Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni conducted the exercise in preparation for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force/MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day 2015 Air Show. The exercise simulated an aircraft crash and oil spill in a crowded area.
