Cope Tiger concludes, reinforces U.S. commitment to partners, allies
Cope Tiger 17 (CT17) participants during the closing ceremony for Cope Tiger 17 at Korat Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, March 31, 2017. More than 1,200 U.S., Thai and Singaporean military members participated in CT17. View from inside a K-span
The lights remain off 24/7 in the tents and K-spans in the Rush Park life support area where personnel deployed in support of Key Resolve 2017 at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, March 15, 2017. The K-span, which is a pre-manufactured steel-framed building, can house up to 120 personnel who sleep on both beds and cots and most have wall lockers to secure their valuables. The only lights visible are flash lights and daylight which creeps through the various cracks in the building’s superstructure. Overhead lights permanently stay off for members who work different shifts during the 24/7 operations of KR17.

Armando Galella, a veteran who lost his best friend during the Dec. 7, 1941 attacks on Oahu, during a photo-opportunity session after the 75th Commemoration of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Hickam Field ceremony Dec. 7, 2016, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The attacks on seven bases throughout Oahu precipitated America's entry into World War II, and the annual commemoration ceremony is designed to foster reflection, remembrance, and understanding for those affected by the events that took place 75 years ago.

Craig Slaten, the 354th CES noncommissioned officer in charge of service contracts, Dec. 5, 2016, in Fairbanks, Alaska. Slaten and Aleman use the auger to drill into the ice, exposing water which will build up the ice and create a stable bridge for transportation of equipment and supplies.

The tests will evaluate the full spectrum of joint strike fighter measures of suitability and effectiveness in an at-sea environment.
