09 March 2022
The United States condemns the recent series of ballistic missile launches by the DPRK, including the launch on the morning of March 5 Korea Standard Time. These launches violate multiple UN Security Council resolutions and pose a threat to the DPRK’s neighbors and the international community.

The United States condemns the recent series of ballistic missile launches by the DPRK, including the launch on the morning of March 5 Korea Standard Time. These launches violate multiple UN Security Council resolutions and pose a threat to the DPRK’s neighbors and the international community.

We have made clear our concern over the significant increase in DPRK missile testing activity, which undermines peace and security and is destabilizing to the region and the international community.

In light of this, on March 7, 2022, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command ordered intensified Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance collection activities in the Yellow Sea, as well as enhanced readiness among our ballistic missile defense forces in the region. Our commitment to the defense of the Republic of Korea and Japan remains ironclad.

The United States remains committed to serious and sustained diplomacy toward the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
