USS Paul Hamilton Visits Singapore

By Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Matthew Jackson USS Paul Hamilton Public Affairs

SINGAPORE -- The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) arrived in Singapore for a scheduled port visit Feb. 18.

During the port visit, Paul Hamilton Sailors will have opportunities to experience the local culture through events sponsored by Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), which include cultural tours and museum visits. Additionally, the crew is participating in community service projects for various organizations in the area.

“This port visit is a fantastic opportunity for our Sailors,” said Cmdr. Mark W. Lawrence, commanding officer of Paul Hamilton. “Singapore is rich in history, and I am excited for the Phantom Warriors to have the opportunity to learn more about it.”

Paul Hamilton and crew have been participating in unit-level training and promoting regional security across the Indo-Pacific.

“I am so excited to visit Singapore, and I am grateful to visit such a beautiful country,” said Ensign Christina Orlando, a Paul Hamilton Sailor from Sterling, Virginia. “This is why they say, ‘Join the Navy, see the world!’”

Paul Hamilton, part of the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group, is forward-deployed to the Indo-Pacific conducting maritime security operations to enhance partnerships and contribute to stability in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations.
