The Joint U.S. Military Affairs Group-Korea (JUSMAG-K) and Republic of Korea army (ROKA) toured the 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade aviation maintenance facilities, here, recently.

Maj. Cesario Rendon, Logistics Support Team (LST) Area III/2nd CAB Brigade LST chief, partnered with the 602nd Aviation Support Battalion support operations officer to host representatives from JUSMAG-K and ROKA. The purpose of the tour was to provide the ROKA feedback for future quarterly sessions regarding Foreign Military Sales from U.S. Army Materiel Command to the ROKA Aviation Logistics Command.

The Army Field Support Battalion-Korea provides technical support to the 2nd Infantry Division and Area III non-divisional units through the AMC's Logistics Assistance Program. The BLST enhances readiness by coordinating and integrating acquisition, logistics and technology support and leveraging AMC's strategic logistics capabilities.

Tours included rotary blade repair, engine repair and engine run cell shops in the CH-47 Chinook, UH-60L Blackhawk and AH-64 Apache helicopter sustainment facilities. The 602nd ASB aviation maintenance personnel provided technical and maintenance overviews about maintaining its fleet while utilizing its internal technological engineering capabilities.

The rotary blade repair personnel discussed alleviating early turn-in and reduced operating costs for both the main rotor and tail rotor blades. The engine shops provided a tour of the day-to-day operations of maintaining aircraft turbine engines.

"This was a great learning opportunity for the ROKA aviation program," said Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tae-ung No. "It allowed us to acquire some valuable information and overview on the importance of repairing and maintaining Army aircraft turbine engines and rotary blades."
