Today, U.S. Ambassador to Malaysia Joseph Yun announced that the United States will provide RM 525,000 in disaster assistance funds to non-governmental organizations that are helping support the communities affected by flooding in the east coast of Malaysia.  These funds will be used to meet critical needs and will help those who have been displaced return to their communities.  These resources will complement the ongoing work by the Malaysian government and local non-governmental organizations in providing relief to the affected areas. 

Ambassador Yun said “This assistance will help people in the affected areas recover from this disaster and rebuild their lives.  The United States stands by the people of Malaysia at this difficult time, and our thoughts remain with the affected communities.”
