RoK US Alliance Roundtable Discussion

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii — The ROK-U.S. Alliance Foundation and Korea Defense Veterans Association Delegation met with U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) leadership for a roundtable discussion, Feb. 27, 2026, at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

Held at USARPAC Headquarters, the roundtable underscored the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen alliance activities and maintain peace and security across the Indo-Pacific.

The engagement strengthened mutual understanding of the role and capabilities of the United States Indo-Pacific Command in ensuring security and stability on the Korean Peninsula, while reaffirming the enduring commitment of the ROK-U.S. alliance.

The discussion, hosted by Gen. Ronald P. Clark, USARPAC commanding general, included senior leaders and distinguished guests: Gen. (Ret.) Robert Abrams (U.S.), Gen. (Ret.) Lim Ho-young (RoK), Yoo Myung-hwan, former Republic of Korea Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Honorary Chairman Chung Mong-joon, former Chairman of Hyundai Corporation, along with accompanying personnel.

The delegation also participated in a join wreath-laying ceremony and an encouragement event honoring invited U.S. Korean War veterans, expressing appreciation for their service and sacrifice during their Hawaii visit.
