HONOLULU, Hawaii — U.S. Secretary of the Navy John C. Phelan’s visit to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters underscores the Department of the Navy’s renewed focus on innovation, joint interoperability, and strategic sustainment in the Indo-Pacific region.

Phelan was greeted with an Honors Ceremony at the USINDOPACOM headquarters by Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander, Indo-Pacific Command. 

During his visit, Phelan received a briefing from USINDOPACOM leaders on critical operational and logistical challenges experienced in the Indo-Pacific. Phelan has prioritized advancing joint operations closely aligning with INDOPACOM’s mission to maintain readiness and deterrence in a dynamic security environment.

This engagement reaffirms the Navy’s commitment to supporting regional allies and partners, while accelerating modernization efforts in one of the world’s most strategically vital areas.
