SEA OF Japan -- The USS Milius (DDG-69) conducted a bilateral ballistic missile defense exercise in partnership with Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force JS Atago (DDG-177) in the Sea of Japan, Mar. 18, 2023.

This exercise continues the enhancement of the interoperability of the JSDF and U.S. armed forces and demonstrates the strength of the U.S.-Japan Alliance. Our bilateral cooperation is reflective of our shared values and resolve to hold the line against those who challenge regional stability.

We remain committed to peace and prosperity in the region to uphold a free and open Indo-Pacific.
