FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii -- The Director of U.S. Army Installation Management Command-Pacific (IMCOM-Pacific), Craig Deatrick, and Command Sergeant Major Jon Y. Williams, signed the IMCOM Leadership Pledge with several members of the IMCOM-Pacific team in attendance on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 at IMCOM-Pacific headquarters.
The pledge represents the Command's long-term commitment to providing the best possible customer service to Soldiers, Families, and communities. It is based on the premise that excellence in customer service is a result of how an organization treats its employees. If employees have engaged and caring leaders, feel valued and respected for the work they do, are properly trained, and live the Army values, they will pass forward this positive attitude to their customers and co-workers.
During the signing ceremony, Deatrick emphasized the importance of the pledge and its role in shaping the command’s culture, saying, “By signing the IMCOM Leadership Pledge here today, we are reaffirming our commitment to every member of our team and to continually improving this organization.”
Williams echoed Deatrick’s remarks, stating, “Our success is directly tied to the success of our amazing people. By committing to this pledge, we are sending a clear message that we put our people first.”
IMCOM is a supporting command and a service provider organization, with programs and services that contribute to Army readiness. Since its inception, the IMCOM Leadership ledge has served as a visible symbol and a reminder to leaders that all employees deserve respect and the basic tools needed to be successful.
The full text of the pledge reads:
“Taking care of those we serve begins with taking care of our most valuable asset – our IMCOM professionals.
IMCOM leaders will provide our team members the same concern, respect and caring attitude that we expect them to share with our Soldiers, Families, Civilians and Retirees.
We pledge to position you for success with:
• An impactful on-boarding and orientation experience to welcome you to the IMCOM Team.
• Clear performance standards; to include standards for service experience.
• An Individual Development Plan (IDP) developed with your supervisor; reviewed during periodic counseling.
• Opportunities for personal growth and professional development.
• A recognition program to reward service and performance excellence.
• Engaged Leaders who seek and welcome your input and take action to continuously improve the organization.
• An organization that embraces the concept of team, teamwork and empowerment.
• A promise to hold ourselves and each other accountable.”
