JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii --
Red Flag-Alaska 22-3, the third of three iterations of a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise, is scheduled to run from 28 July to 12 August with primary flight operations over the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex. Red Flag-Alaska is designed to provide realistic training essential to the continued development and improvement of combined and joint interoperability in a simulated combat environment.

Approximately 2,200 service members are expected to fly, maintain and support more than 110 aircraft from 25 units during this iteration of the exercise. U.S. service members will be training alongside Royal Australian Air Force service members to exchange tactics, techniques and procedures while enhancing the combat readiness of all participating forces. The majority of aircraft will be based at, and fly from, Eielson Air Force Base and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

Red Flag-Alaska dates back to 1975, when it was called Exercise Cope Thunder and held at Clark Air Base, Philippines and continues to provide tactical training for the full spectrum of conflict and unique opportunities to integrate various forces in a realistic threat environment.
