Eielson Air Force Base Commissary Beings Curbside Pick-Up

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska -- The Eielson Air Force Base Commissary began a curbside pick-up program open to all Airmen and families, April 30.
The program, in conjunction with local COVID-19 guidelines, will make it easier for single parents, deployed spouses and at-risk authorized Defense Commissary Agency (DECA) shoppers to order and pay for their groceries remotely and receive their bags at the front curb of the Commissary. This service, however, is available to all Eielson Airmen and their families.
While COVID-19 numbers are extremely low on the base, the initiative, led by Master Sgts. Caleb Myers and Stephen Leonardi, will help limit exposure and potential spread of the virus.
“This will provide minimum contact within the commissary and will provide a way of receiving groceries while practicing social distancing,” said Myers, the 354th Maintenance Squadron crash, damaged, disabled aircraft recovery section chief.
The service is completely run by volunteers. Eielson community members who would like to volunteer can visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040B49ABAD23A0FE3 to sign up for 2-hour blocks.
To place an order, please follow these steps:
Complete the grocery order form found here and send to eafbcommissaryservice@gmail.com.
Receive your confirmation receipt of order
Call (907) 377-2173 to make the over-the-phone purchase through credit card ONLY.
(NOTE: Grocery orders cannot be placed over the phone)
Wait 45 minutes to pick-up groceries at the curb after placing the order, or for a phone call from a volunteer.
Park at the available numbered stanchions and wait for a customer service representative to greet you.
NOTE: Grocery orders may be placed at any time, however, any order placed within the last Commissary operating hour or later will be completed the following day
