8th Theater Sustainment Command Hosting Logistics Training Team on Global Combat Support System-Army

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii -- The 8th Theater Sustainment Command will host a Logistics Training Team to provide training on the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) from April 29 through May 24, 2019 at the Schofield Barracks installation training center.
The training is open to GCSS-Army operators and supervisors assigned to U.S. Army Pacific Command and is intended to provide attendees with a full understanding of GCSS-Army through the following courses:
GCSS-Army Warehouse Operation Course is a five day class held from 29 April-03 May 19. This course is designed for managers, supervisors, and SSA personnel who may be involved in the daily operations regarding the supply support activity (SSA) operation. The course begins by defining the basic core functions of the warehouse operation; to accept, receive, store, issue, inventory, and shipping supplies. The course aims to help the student better understand the operation of the warehouse that is being managed within the organization. Duration 40 hours.
GCSS-Army Material Manager Course is a five day class held from 06-10 May 19. This course is designed for material managers and supervisors who may be involved in decision making regarding the warehouse daily operation. The course aims to help the student better understand how the warehouse is managed. The course begins by defining the warehouse operation and why is critical to monitor inventories, purchase orders, purchase requisitions, inbound and outbound deliveries and new roles and responsibilities which must be implemented. It includes high level discussions made as a manager or supervisor. Duration 40 hours.
GCSS-Army Unit Supply Course is a five day class with two classes being held; the first from 13-17 May 19 and the second from 20-24 May 19. This course is designed for managers and unit supply specialists who May be involved in implementation and/or decision making regarding the daily operations of the unit supply room. The course begins by defining the core duties of the supply room; review the force element structures to manage the organizational and logistics needs of the UICs for which they are responsible, explore the force element (FE) structure, how structural elements and logistics data are organized, and manage stock storage locations (SLOCs) for managing property. Duration 40 hours.
