U.S. to Participate in India’s Premier Aerospace Exhibition

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- The United States will participate in Aero India 2019 at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru, India, Feb. 20-24, 2019.
More than 80 service members from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps will support this event.
U.S. military aircraft and equipment are scheduled to support the event with static displays and aerial demonstrations including a B-52 Stratofortress bomber assigned to the 23rd Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam; F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 35th Fighter Wing, Misawa Air Base, Japan; and C-17 Globemaster IIIs assigned to the 535th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii; F/A-18 Super Hornet assigned to the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 27, Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan; and a P-8 Poseidon assigned to the Patrol Squadron (VP) 47, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash.
Aero India is India’s premier aerospace exhibition trade and airshow held bi-annually.
“We are honored to participate in this year’s exhibition,” said Maj. Gen. James Eifert, Air National Guard assistant to the commander, Pacific Air Forces. “Aero India is the largest airshow in the Indo-Pacific and offers a venue to build stronger relations between the U.S. and India, as well as among the international community.”
Through participation in air shows and other regional events, the United States demonstrates commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific region, promotes the standardization and compatibility of equipment and displays capabilities of current and future military operations.
