MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Wild Weasels University (WWU) is a professional development platform allowing Airmen to focus on furthering their personal and professional skills. A variety of classes are offered such as nutrition, finances and leadership.
“People attend the classes to not only progress their own skills but also to teach others about the things they learn,” said Master Sgt. Daniel Singleton, the 35th Force Support Squadron career assistance advisor.
The 18 Airmen who attended the nutrition and fitness class learned the impact of nutrition and how simple changes can enhance team readiness and health. Many questions were asked regarding friends, family and specific issues faced with exercise and eating habits.
“The class was very informative and now I’m able to bring that knowledge to my team,” mentioned Senior Airman Corey Reynolds, a 35th Civil Engineer Squadron heating, ventilation, and air conditioning specialist.
WWU has three levels of achievement including; wingman, leader and warrior depending on the number and types of courses taken.
Attendees receive a certificate for completing the first two levels of WWU and are recognized by the Wing at the third level of achievement.
“We want to ensure Airmen are learning valuable skills while being recognized for their initiative and dedication to education,” said Singleton.
The Professional Development Center offers a wide range of courses for personnel interested in furthering professional military education.
They help hundreds of Airmen each month progress their skills and leadership ability, directly and indirectly improving Team Misawa.
