From Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Smith

CAMP WALKER, DAEGU, Republic of Korea -- The Soldiers and command of the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command formally welcomed Command Sgt. Maj. LaDerek Green as the unit's senior-most enlisted advisor during an Assumption of Responsibility Ceremony Dec. 12, 2018 at Camp Walker, Daegu, Republic of Korea.
Green brings extensive knowledge to the 19th ESC in Army logistic operations stemming from a 27-year career with specializations in Ammunition Supply and Movement Operations.
Green assumed responsibility of the 19th ESC after arriving in the Republic of Korea from his previous assignment at the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Center of Excellence at Fort Bliss, Texas.
Known by its moniker, "Team 19," the 19th ESC will lean on Green's guidance as it provides sustainment operations to the Eighth U.S. Army in the Republic of Korea while maintaining its position as the largest forward-stationed ESC in the U.S. Army.
Green, hailing from McComb, Mississippi, has several relatives who have served in the U.S. Military and had always wanted to be a Soldier from the time he was a child. He said one of his top priorities is putting Soldiers in a position to be successful and recognizing talented Soldiers for their hard work and dedication.
During the ceremony Green said, "It's my solemn oath to the brave Service Members, dedicated Civilians, and Resilient Families of "Team 19," that I will provide the leadership in which you so deserve and are entitled, by standing shoulder to shoulder with our ROK Army counterparts, friends, and good neighbors outside the gates, fully committed to this mission."
Among Green's many achievements are his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees, his membership in the coveted Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, and his accreditations with the U.S. Army Transportation Corps Ancient Order of Saint Christopher and Ordnance Corps Order of Samuel Sharpe.
Green arrives at Team 19 during the unit's 55th Anniversary year, which is being celebrated with the mantra, "Team 19 in 2019, the Year of the 19th ESC," and he will be with the Soldiers of Team 19 as they celebrate its 55th birthday on July 15, 2019.
