Pacific Angel 18 Engagements to Kick Off in Timor-Leste

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -- The United States and Timor-Leste will conduct humanitarian assistance engagements from June 11-16, as part of Pacific Angel (PAC ANGEL) 2018.
Now entering its eleventh year, PAC ANGEL ensures the region's militaries are prepared to work together to address humanitarian crises. During this exercise, more than 60 U.S. military personnel, in partnership with Timor-Leste service members and local non-governmental organizations, will provide humanitarian assistance to the residents of Suai, Cova Lima Municipality, Southwest Timor-Leste.
PAC ANGEL 18 is a joint and combined humanitarian assistance engagement that enhances participating nations' humanitarian assistance and disaster relief capabilities while providing beneficial services to people in need throughout South and Southeast Asia. PAC ANGEL 18 includes general health, dental, optometry, pediatrics and engineering programs as well as various subject-matter expert exchanges.
Additional PAC ANGEL 18 engagements are planned for: Tam Ky, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam; Luganville, Espiritu Santo Island and Tanna, Tanna Island, Vanuatu; and Anuradhapura (North Central Province), Puttalam (Northwest Province), Vavuniya, (Northern Province), Sri Lanka.
